VIB NANOBODY® VHH Core is engaged in the planning and execution of various projects which cover a broad spectrum of subjects, ranging from developing research tools to identification and optimization of leads for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in the field of cancer, inflammatory and infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, etc. In addition to continuous improvement on the existing technology in order to further streamline the generation, identification and engineering of single domain camelid VHHs, the VIB NANOBODY® VHH Core has been and is involved in developing novel VHH-based technology platforms. Examples of such technologies developed by VIB NANOBODY® VHH Core are VHH-based serum half-life extension of therapeutics, viral load quantification by VHHs, VHH-based ChIP-chip, and VHH-based target discovery platform aiming at the discovery of novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets.
